Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology (LIFT) students arrived in the country last week from their study tour in Milan. The tour was organised by the institute annually for fashion design and fashion marketing students to gain international exposure and visit the fashion capitals.
LIFT arranged workshops in Milan at the Modapelle Academy. Students attended intensive workshops and lectures on trend forecast for 2017, design and manufacture of the footwear and accessories, leather design and the International fashion business updates.
Visits were arranged to a high end shoe manufacturing company PARABIAGO who produces elegant shoes for CHANEL, MANOLO BLAHNIK AND MCQEEN. They also visited the special hand bag sample room and manufacturer RENATO CORTI who produces for brands like LOUIS VUITTON, CHANEL and MARK JACOBS. The visit to ARMANI SILOS museum was a new addition this year and the students viewed all four levels covering the selection of 600 outfits and 200 accessories of dating from 1980 to the present curated by Giorgio Armani from his archive.
LIFT being the only fashion campus in the country providing special study visits to the Fashion capitols of the world is committed to provide the best education and the experience to fashion students during their course of study.
